75 mg once daily. Patient w/ unstable angina or MI 300 or 600 mg once at the start of treatment. Maintenance: 75 mg once daily. Patient w/ transient ischemic attack or mild ischemic stroke 300 mg once at the start of treatment. Maintenance: 75 mg once daily w/ ASA for 3 wk.
Patients w/ risk of bleeding (eg, stomach ulcers, prone to internal bleeding, recent serious injury, recent/planned surgery including dental); history of ischemic stroke in the last 7 days; allergy or reaction to any medicine; past medical history of non-traumatic brain hemorrhage; kidney or liver disease; TTP. Contains lactose & hydrogenated castor oil. Preferable not to take during pregnancy. Do not breastfeed during therapy.
Bleeding; diarrhoea, abdominal pain, indigestion or heartburn.
Drug Interactions
Potential interaction w/ medicines that may increase risk of bleeding (eg, oral anticoagulants, NSAIDs, heparin or any other injectable medicine used to reduce blood clotting, ticlopidine, other antiplatelet agent, SSRIs, rifampicin); omeprazole or esomeprazole; fluconazole or voriconazole; efavirenz or other antiretroviral medicines; carbamazepine; moclobemide; repaglinide; paclitaxel; opioids; rosuvastatin.
